The System

The BILDA system and technology is based on three basic innovations: the precision slot in the façade panel, the Lego-like simple connections between all system components, and the closed section square profile. Although BILDA can be used with various panel fixing methods, the slot brings most advantages.

set-clips-bilda-2

А modular set of square profiles, Q-channeled at corners, and versatile elements that can form various structures through quick dovetail coupling – from flat grids to spatial constructions and entire independent structures. These can incorporate mechanically fixed layers to form cladding skins for facades or other applications.

BILDA components are produced from aluminium alloy EN AW 6063-T6.

Slotting machinery

Patented machinery and tools for milling the precision mortise slots in panels by a low-cost cutting process. A range of efficient rigs for the factory and construction site, as well as handheld machines are available. These are equipped with cutting discs for all cladding materials.

Why BILDA?

User-friendly

Quick and easy to assemble, the system has a low learning curve.
All elements of BILDA are self-guiding, self-aligning and interlocking. This means less measurements and fewer installation steps, and guaranteed coupling of the elements on the building site. The result - rapid assembly, minimized errors, optimal performance and low installation costs.

Low-cost

Every component of BILDA cladding system has been carefully designed and tested through practice and modelling. The result is integrity, and excellent strength-to-cost ratio.

  • labour time is saved through quick connections.
  • lighter substructure -
optimization of the geometry and material of the components has led to excellent strength-to-weight ratio and to low costs.
  • up to 15-20% thinner cladding panels - precision slots for panel fixing are from 2 to 5 mm wide and up to 40 mm deep. This makes the system particularly suitable for thinner panels and materials like ceramics.

Universal

A wide range of fixing clips of different size and shape can support panels from all materials, of different thickness and configuration. The clips, in addition to the preferred ‘slot- and-blade’ method, can handle all known fixing methods - the ‘hole-and-dowel’, ‘undercut’ of different types, etc. These can be employed next to each other.

Complies with European regulations

BILDA cladding system has been designed and executed in accordance with European building regulations:
EN 1990: Eurocode – Basis Structural Design EN 1991: Eurocode 1 – on Structures EN 1999: Eurocode 9 – of AluminiumStructures DIN 18516-1:2010-06–Cladding for external walls, ventilated at rear.

Additionally, BILDA is patented in China, the US, Bulgaria, as well as regionally with a European and Eurasian patent. See here.

Solutions for Various Facade Elements

The system is known for its versatility, and as a solution for complex details. BILDA provides special components for:

  • nodes within the cladding areas - corners, reveals, copings, etc.
  • interface sections - to windows, curtain walls, sun-shading.

The modular set of elements can be used to just cover walls and create simple cladding layers. Or to help model the cladding layer in a ‘bas relief’ manner or create ‘haut relief’ features and façade elements.

Sustainable & Serviceable

Efficient design that saves resources and simplifies maintenance.

  • Not only recyclable (due to its aluminium substructure), but also 100% reusable.
  • Less thermal bridging
  • Lighter substructure
  • Use of thinner panels (saving materials)
  • Ease of maintenance, which increases the serviceable lifespan of the building envelope. See patching video to the left.
  • Convenient to fix solar panels & blinds - due to modular, interlocking
