Yvie Tower project details
BILDA replaced the double layered substructure with single layered horizontal strut assembly with concealed slot and blade side fixing. Initially, a double layered cladding substructure and rear clips were considered in the original design.
The Horizontal strut system is made possible due to higher transversal strength (rigidity) of BILDA’s closed section profile – its section modulus is 1.8 times higher than that of a conventional T-profile for the same weight/m.
Side fixing of cladding panels is also invisible but lower cost due to cheaper slot processing (simple linear cutting) and lower number of fixing clips.
