BILDA Large-format Fixing Method
Did you know that BILDA fixes also large-format materials, at low cost and with high quality?
Lately envelope designers and cladding material manufacturers have been collaborating on a new and minimalistic clean look of façades using a large-format panel façade pattern.
What BILDA Rainscreen superSystem has created specially to support this tendency is a special rigid and material-optimised concealed fixing method for large-size cladding panels.
BILDA Large Panels Subsystem:
• comprises lightweight closed-section back framing struts;
• framing strut profiles are fixed mechanically or bonded to cut-to-sized sheets (4 to 15mm thickness) to form rigid preassembled panels, clips are attached to the back of framing struts;
• substructure is fixed to primary structure/building;
• preassembled panels (dimensions - up to 4200mm x 1600 mm) are hooked by four clips onto the above mentioned cladding substructure.
Materials:
• Ceramics
• Fibrecement (FCB)
• High Pressure Laminates (HPL)
• Glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRP)
• Composites (with honeycomb incl.)
In addition to the above mentioned, BILDA large-format (prefurring) fixing method has other advantages:
1. Reliable assembly - Allows efficient fixing of large-sized, thin, brittle materials by initially pre-assembled furring frame to form a rigid panel.
2. Quality assured – System fixing with high-quality materials, quality management through systematic site process inspections and professional consulting if needed.
3. Controllable and secure fixing – With the BILDA large-sized fixing method, the installation is safely attached to four points on BILDA’s strut profile for rainscreen cladding.
4. Rapid Installation - In comparison to the conventional fixing method, BILDA large-sized fixing method has a lower number of operations at the construction site and the assembly process is quick and simpler and executed previously in the factory under controlled conditions.
5. Cost efficiency – BILDA large-format fixing needs fewer and lower cost elements with high quality and durability in comparison to the standard installation, where it requires many more elements with variable quality.
6. Thermal efficiency - The thermal bridges are minimized/negligible number.
7. Future reuse of large-format cladding panels – The cladding panes can be easily removed, reused, cut or processed for different purposes.
